Upon entering our practice, you will be greeted by our friendly front desk receptionist. After your paperwork has been filled out, our Patient Coordinator, who you will have previously met on the phone, will meet with you again to take a photo for your chart and perform a weight check to help determine whether you are a good candidate for cosmetic surgery. She will discuss your areas of concern with you while providing further information and guidance about the specific procedure you are considering.
You will then be asked to change into an exam gown. Our nurse will take your vitals and discuss your medical history with you. It is important to tell her about any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking.

She will advise you on all aspects of your recovery from cosmetic surgery such as your recommended surgical garments for compression, and what you will need to know about lymphatic massages if they are recommended for your procedure. She will also provide available dates and times for your surgery. Dr. Burnett and our team will be readily available to answer any questions and provide follow-up care as needed after your surgery.

BURNETT PLASTIC SURGERY'S HISTORY
When Dr. Carlos Burnett first started his practice, there was only one other person in the office with him, sitting at the front desk. The team has since expanded to include several others, welcoming patients from around Westfield, NJ, and beyond. Burnett Plastic Surgery's history encompasses more than 20 years of hard work and a dedication to improving the lives of women and men seeking quality care.
Dr. Burnett performed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey after having completed fellowships in hand surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery. Shortly after finishing, in 1996, Dr. Burnett opened his own practice, where he's been the primary doctor ever since.
Over the years, he has transitioned from covering the emergency rooms at five different hospitals (now he covers one) and focuses on cosmetic plastic surgery. His children went to school in Westfield, his employees live in Westfield, and he lived in Westfield for four years before moving only 20 minutes away. He continues to support the Pink Out for breast cancer at the local high school.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Carlos Burnett is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed medical school at NYU's School of Medicine before his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he was chief resident. He has also completed advanced fellowship training at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. Dr. Burnett has been serving patients as a plastic surgeon in his Westfield plastic surgery practice for more than 20 years. In addition, he works at the Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.
