Breast Augmentation With Lift Ideal For Some In The Westfield Area
When dissatisfied with the appearance of small breasts, the procedure of
choice for many women is breast augmentation. With this type of treatment
alone, it is possible to achieve improvement in the size and firmness
of breasts, as well as their “perkiness.”
While breast augmentation is suitable for many of our patients from Westfield and surrounding areas, there are some for whom augmentation alone is not enough to achieve the desired result. Women who may need a bit more attention are those have may have lost a significant amount of weight or who have breastfed. With the rapid fluctuations in weight and stretching of breast tissue, the changes to the breasts may be dramatic.
Why combine lift and augmentation?
The combination of lifting and augmentation achieves better positioning of breast anatomy as well as improved size of the breasts. After weight loss and / or breastfeeding, a woman may lose a great deal of volume in the way of fatty tissue. Lifting and replacing volume addresses the hormonal and physical changes that have made once-full breasts lax and deflated.
When implants are inserted into the breast, the exact amount of desired volume can be achieved. Adding in the lift procedure restores the breast to its normal physical position.
The breast augmentation with lift procedure
Breast augmentation and lifting is carefully planned and our patients know exactly what to expect well before their surgery day.
After the patient has been anesthetized the chosen incision is made to facilitate the breast lift procedure. There are a few different types of incisions that can be made and our patients have all of the necessary information to help them choose which is right for their needs.
The breasts are first augmented through the placement of implants into the breast cavity. Positioning may take place beneath or on top of the muscle. Implants are inserted empty and filled once they are in place. After the desired fullness has been achieved, the process of lifting begins. Joining two incisions, Dr. Burnett skillfully repositions the breasts vertically to achieve a beautiful bust line. If extra skin is a problem, it will be removed at this time. Before completing the closure of sutures, the breasts are observed for symmetry. Once symmetry and size have been perfected, focus will turn to the ideal placement of the nipples and the surgery is complete.
